Rare opportunity to become owner of a unique design for the metre rule.
The design was derived from the Swedish 12mR project New Sweden for Americas Cup but as the 12mR was made obsolete for the AC 1987 it was redesigned (6mR Woodoo) for the 6mR worlds in 1991 where it went on to win.
At the same time the team behind the 6mR went on to build a set of moulds for a 2.4mR version and some 5 or 6 boats were built.
I used this mould set to build SWE349 in 1995.
The project was put to a halt as I put all my efforts in the
Stradivari Mk I project. The boat was stored till 2002 when it was sold to a customer who unfortunately passed away right after the boat had received an overhaul with new paint.
After the repaint it sailed once on a sunny day. The boat has since been stored indoors so it stands as new.
The sistership SWE274 was sailed extensively during the first half of the nineties showing good performance/results. This build has better weight distribution/stiffness so the boat has no doubt potential.
